The nation’s 14th state invites you to celebrate the nation’s 234th birthday this summer in Vermont. Be part of a
down-home festival and see what Vermont looks like in summer in the state’s own Northeast Kingdom. Think mountainside fireworks, fresh Vermont strawberry shortcake, unique Vermont crafts, and more. Events all take place within a 5-mile radius.
Music fills the air all weekend long. Bring your friends and family Saturday for the Vermont State Fiddle Championship from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. in picturesque Bandstand Park in Lyndonville. On the stage Saturday will be the best of New England's and eastern Canada's old-time fiddlers vying to represent Vermont at the National Fiddler's Championship.
Lodging is available from a variety of sources. If camping is your style, chose from any number of campgrounds on Vermont lakes and rivers. Or perhaps a B&B suits your fancy. All are available a short distance from the main events. Visit the Northeast Kingdom and experience Vermont like it used to be.
